English for business.
$9,000 per student · 36 hours · Funded through the B.C. Employer Training Grant · Starts April 2027
Who it's for
Professionals in Canada who already speak English fluently, as a second language, and want to work at the highest level of business in it.
What you'll practise
- Meetings, presenting and negotiating.
- Business writing: email, proposals and reports.
- Networking in English: introductions, small talk and following up.
- Each class of 6 meets 2 hours a week.
- On Fridays, all classes meet together at the Vancouver Club for 4 hours, catered, with guest speakers from the business community, student pitches and networking.
- Classes mix nationalities, so English is the language you share.
Your employer can pay
The B.C. Employer Training Grant can pay back an employer 80% of eligible training costs, up to $10,000 per employee each year (April to March). On this course, that would be $7,200 back, so the employer pays $1,800.
- Your employer checks they're eligible on WorkBC. You must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person.
- We send them a quote and a course outline for the application.
- Your employer applies before the course starts.
- WorkBC decides. Approval isn't guaranteed.
The grant pays for job-skills training. It doesn't pay for networking, seminars or conferences on their own. The course is under 40 hours, so it doesn't need PTIRU certification. We'll confirm it meets the grant's rules before enrolment opens.
